Laser dioptre removal
Laser dioptre removal involves changing the curvature of cornea so that the eye optical system displays the observed object on retina, exactly at the point of sharpest vision. Using laser techniques we can remove farsightedness, nearsightedness and astigmatism.
WE PERFORM THE FOLLOWING LASER REFRACTION PROCEDURES IN OUR CLINIC:
- FemtoLASIK is painless and safe procedure. First, the femtosecond laser LenSx forms with high precision a surface lamella, a specialized surgeon then opens a lamella and the excimer laser EX 500 then removes a dioptre defect. At the end, a surgeon reapplies the lamella. The surgery is performed on both eyes at once. 90% of patients select FemtoLASIK laser surgery.
- LASIK (Laser in Situ Keratomileusis) is a standard surgical laser method, in which the surface cornea of a lamella is created by means of microkeratome.
- PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) is also a standard laser surgical method. It is a laser surgery, in which cornea is modelled by laser on the surface, without creating a corneal lamella. The reason for this surgery may be a thin cornea, preventing a laser surgery, creating lamella, or patient’s own wish. In that case the method is generally suitable for removing lower degree myopia (short-sightedness). The laser treatment itself is painless and takes only a few seconds. The disadvantage of this method is longer post-surgery healing and feelings of pain. The healing takes 4-5 days. It is necessary to follow an exact post-surgery eye drop treatment.
FEMTOSECOND LASER LenSx®
Cutting-edge surgery technology by LenSx® device significantly reduces the risk of intraocular surgery. The principle is to perform the surgery without the use of sharp instruments such as scalpel, needle or knife. Using the femtosecond laser ray pulses small bubbles are created in the tissue, which separate it. The entire laser procedure takes only a few tens of seconds.
WAVELIGHT® EX500 EXCIMER LASER
